The Next 50 was founded to identify, support, and invest in emerging Democratic leaders who can win competitive races and deliver results for their communities. Cait’s victory adds to a growing record of success for The Next 50-backed candidates. Recently, Sarah Trone Garriott (IA-03) and Paige Cognetti (PA-08) advanced to their general elections, and Rebecca Bennett won her primary in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, one of the most competitive House races in the country.

In 2025, The Next 50 went 10-for-10 in endorsed races, including victories by Governor Abigail Spanberger in Virginia, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones in San Antonio, and Mayor Mary Sheffield in Detroit. Across the 2023–2024 cycle, The Next 50 supported 50 candidates, achieved a 70 percent win rate, and helped raise more than $3.1 million for campaigns.
